Polypodiophyta

I created this piece from studies of Ferns in my garden over lockdown. I was drawn to the movement, the unfurling and the layering of the fronds as well as the different textures that are on the surface of the leaves. "Polypodiophyta" comes from many photographs and sketches taking elements of the Ferns that fascinate me and reconstructing them together by creating my own Murine in our hot glass studio, cutting them by hand then contracting them together in the flat bed kiln to fuse in to a large scale panel.
